THE ORBIT LAB: ux research & design project

The ORBIT Lab is a research project based through the University of Michigan that aims to help facilitate collaboration between people from all different backgrounds, in the form of an online platform. As the lab lead to the head professor of the project, Kelly Murdoch-Kitt, I work to help bring this vision into reality with ~11 other undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

As both the Lab Lead and an Undergraduate Research Assistant I have had the opportunity to work on many project teams within the lab over the past 3 years. I have assisted in evaluating potential user groups (from humanity professors to middle schoolers), surveying and interviewing people within these demographics, helping in the developmental side of the website, and implementing consisting themes throughout the social media pages.

In addition, I currently work to help manage and divide work amongst the smaller project teams within the lab. In doing so, I help to guarantee a lack of confusion on assignments in order to stick to predetermined deadlines.
